Some Musicals...

If you read music, you take a look at the score. If you don't but you're good at learning by ear, you listen to the tracs. Then you look at the script, and you say, "Yeah, I can handle the score and the story line seems simple. I'm going to audition for this!"

You audition and get cast and as a cast, all of you sit down at the first rehearsal and do a read through... and everybody says, "Yeah, we can do this!"

First couple of music rehearsals all of you say, "Yeeaahh, this score is just a little more difficult than we thought, but, ah... yeeaahh, we, ah... we can do it... sorta."

Then you're at the stage of rehearsals where you've been working music and dialog; and that's when you say, "What the #!&%$## did we get ourselves into? This score is... hard... a lot hard! And the story line and the characters is/are so complex. We're going to need a whole team of therapists to get us through this... whatever it is we got ourselves into!!! And that's when you start kicking yourself in the backside and asking yourself, "Why did I do this? I should have blown this show off and auditioned for SEUSSICAL THE MUSICAL at that other theatre across town!"

And yet... you stay with the show, because for some reason, not clear to you. There's something about the score, the dialog, the characters, and the message of the show that YOU LOVE IT!

Venture to say that's what every cast (table reads, work shop, to finally getting on stage the first time) has said about...

I am abundantly grateful to the current cast of this show for their talent, dedication, and above all, a group work ethic that is bringing the message of this show to a new level.

If you're in Las Vegas next weekend... come and watch these people...

Take you on a journey that is NEVER taken, and Tell you the story that's NEVER TOLD... When we talk about the men and women, AND THIER FAMILIES. That serve in the military, during war time - anytime.

When we were in the table read phase in the development of this show. One cast member, Corinna Harney-Jones...

a step daughter of a Vietnam veteran. In a emotional moment. Shared with us that she was the stepdaughter of a Vietnam veteran...

"Growing up, I hated him. I couldn't understand why he was the way he is... I've spent a week with this script, AND NOW I GET IT!"

Corinna... that was about 4 years ago. I'm not sure you remember your exact words, but those of us on the production team did, and still do.

THANK YOU... for the reason we changed the show's title.

THANK YOU... Because NOW... when people see and hear the message of this show, THEY GET IT!
