I’m thankful that way back, a long time ago, two different cultures of people, starving from a brutal winter, chose survival over their differences, and shared food with each other.
Some history books say that that’s how Thanksgiving came about.
There are other varying accounts, and most likely… somewhere in the myriad of accounts of that day , is an accurate accounting of what actually happened.
Just for grins, research your family history. You might be surprised to learn that you had family that was there.
I’m thankful I’m still here, because God knows I have, on many occasions, exhibited levels of stupidity that would more than justify my not being here anymore.
Or… maybe I’m still here because Heaven isn’t ready for me and Hell is afraid, I’ll take over – lol!
I’m thankful for my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ… without him, I know exactly where I’d be in this life… and it wouldn’t be good.
I’m thankful for Kristina, my wife, and our kids. Paraphrasing James A. Mitchner, in his book, HAWAII , “My thoughts and feelings for Kristina and our kids are of such a deep and tender nature, I dare not express them.”
I’m thankful that my disagreement with your POV is not an expression of hate toward you. Hopefully, your difference of opinion with me isn’t an expression of hate towards me either… we just disagree.
I’m thankful for my friends… each of them from varied faiths, life experiences, incomes, political beliefs, lifestyles, some of them from different countries. If you’re my friend, you’re my friend – period.
I’m thankful to be an American and for my very life on this earth.
Does this country have some major problems? Hell, does a chicken have lips? Does a snake have hips?
Name one country that doesn’t. And even if you could… I’m an American son… I’m good right where I am.
This Thanksgiving… remove all the negative posts from your social media pages. Then see what remains.
Have a good thanksgiving, everybody - God bless you and God bless America.
Thanks for reading my blog!
