Getting closer

Getting excited about getting even closer to finishing my new musical, BACK IN THE WORLD

Kudos to my good friend Aaron Daniels who came up with a great set design!

After Aaron read the script, we sat down and talked.

Thee or four days later I get an email from him asking me when we could get together, so he can show me what he came up with.

The show takes place in a grill type bar. I couldn't believe what he came up with!

The intimate design matches perfectly with the intimacy and sometimes flamboyant dialog and music in the show.

Actually, the set design... is a huge upgrade from what the place where that initial conversation took place looks like - lol!

For those of you new to my blog and website, BACK IN THE WORLD is a show about thee Marine Vietnam vets and their wives, reuniting for a celebration of the Marine Corps Birthday, some 50+ years after the war.

No political agenda in this show... just memories: some painful, pleasant, some downright surreal and hysterical, of the war, the war at home, and life after the war.

When the show opens and through the play this is what you, the audience, will see. In actuality the entire back wall of the set is a projection screen. The Bar, picture, and other items you see is a large graphic, projected onto the screen.

During certain segments of the show, slides and sound effects corelating to dialog will be projected onto the screen to help put the audience "in the moment" of what is being portrayed.

Seven actors comprise the cast: 3-Men, 3-Women, and a keyboard player. The keyboard player is the orchestra.

Stay tuned... will be posting music samples.

In the meantime... Thanks for clicking on my website and reading my blog!

Loren
