Meet...

These three guys do a heck of a job portraying three men who, for the first time since coming home from Vietnam - some 50-some odd years -- quite unintentionally start talking about their war experience in Vietnam...in the company of their wives.

And the talking doesn't end there...as one of their wives will, for the first time in her life, talk about her experience in the war at home...something she has NEVER shared with her husband.

The workshopping of NOW, I GET IT happens Wednesday evening, June 14 - 7:30pm; at The Charleston Heights Arts Center, 800 South Brush St., in Las Vegas, Nevada.

After the audience response to the reading of the show we did in October of last year, we learned that NOW, I GET IT, has a much broader appeal than just the Vietnam vet and their families. It appeals to ANYONE, who has a son, daughter, husband, wife - or maybe a friend, go off to war.

Now...let me introduce you to...

DAVE COLVIN… The son of a Vietnam veteran, career Airforce pilot, Dave is proud of his military heritage.

Dave plays former Platoon Commander, 2nd Lt., Don Kettleman... and more than does the role justice.

His real job? Dave is the attorney for the Paiute Native American Tribe, in Las Vegas.

He admits to getting bit by the acting bug back in the fifth grade; but he and Director, Loren Marsters go back some 20 years ago, when Dave auditioned for one of the lead roles in the first show Marsters did in Las Vegas. Marsters would cast Colvin in two other shows he directed in Las Vegas in 2005 and 2017. Dave and his wife live in Henderson, Nevada.

STU CHAIKIN

On stage as an actor, being a director and producer: in front of or behind the camera, Stu is one of the most respected members of the Las Vegas Theatre/Film community. His list of credits could be the content of a blog all on it's own.

Stu plays former artillery officer, 2nd Lt., Bobby Olivas; and at one point in the show, he will share with you, the audience, how he, without hesitation, risked his military career to do what he knew had to be done.

WAYNE MORTON

Playing a a variety of roles from Hysterium, in A FUNNY THING HAPPENDE ON THE WAY TO THE FORUM, to Frank Sinatra in, THE RAT PACK LOUNGE, Wayne is one of the many talented actors involved with the Las Vegas Theatre Company.

Wayne plays the wild card character in NOW, I GET IT - Brent Macklin...the screwup kid that was ordered by a judge to, "Go in the service, or you're going to jail!."

It's in the Marine Corps, especially Vietnam, that Brent realizes he's NOT the screwup everybody, including himself, thought he was.

NOW, I GET IT, is a true story; brought to life by Dave, Stu, and Wayne; along with Ellen Richards, Anne McNinch, and Shannon Taylor. You'll meet Ellen, Anne, and Shannon in my next blog. 6 talented actors playing real people and in the process, giving each character his/her do.

Join us Wednesday evening, June 14th - 7:30pm (doors open at 7:00) at The Charleston Heights Arts Center -- 800 South Brush, Las Vegas, Nevada.

We guarantee you you will laugh...and cry...and celebrate their overcoming the obstacles they faced.

As always, thanks for reading my blog!

Loren
